No specific troubles just trying to keep things clean and up to date and operating smoothly. Here's the report via Etresoft. Just trying to keep things clean and up to date and operating smoothly.Installing garbage such as 'CleanMyMac', 'MacKeeper' and 'Trusteer Rapport' conflicts with that goal. As long as those programs remain installed, or components of them remain active after incompletely removing them, your Mac will not operate properly. Moreover, using such 'cleaning' apps can easily corrupt a system to the point that erasing it and reconfiguring it is the only practicable way of recovering from their effects. EtreCheck is not intended to be an exhaustive diagnostic tool and cannot reveal those effects. If that were my Mac I would be satisfied with nothing less than erasing it completely, given the uncertainty of exactly what your did with those 'cleaning' apps. It is impossible for anyone, within the limitations of this site, to remotely diagnose someone else's Mac and provide absolute assurance that your system or the files and work products you use it to create have not been corrupted. Only you can do that, through direct observation of its performance as you use it to do whatever it is you need your Mac to do.
If your Mac is working to your satisfaction, leave it alone. If it isn't, describe what's wrong. Never install some magical cure-all in an attempt to fix it — regardless of the source. You need to become much more circumspect regarding what you choose to install on your Mac. Macs do not need 'cleaning' or any non-Apple 'security' or 'anti-virus' or 'protection' software. Keeping it up to date means just that — installing software updates from Apple and maintaining all non-Apple software in manner recommended by their respective developers.
If you want your Mac to work as designed, let it work as designed: don't burden it with useless junk.On that subject, 'MightyText' seems to be very resource-intensive and appears to have caused your Mac to 'hang' on at least one occasion. If OS X's native Messages app does not meet your requirements I suggest you find another alternative from the Mac App Store.
